A Quick Blast from the Past: Washington, DC

We had the opportunity to live in DC while I worked in the Cambodian embassy. We enjoyed several visits to Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry, Philadelphia, the Marriott's ranch, and even a Christmas party in the White House. We attended our first MLB game, saw "The Christmas Carol," in Ford's Theater, and took Sunday afternoon walks to the monuments. What fond memories!

A Quick Blast from the Past: Hawaiian Vacation

My parents took Annie and me on a Hawaiian cruise. Good times!
Horseback riding on Kauai. Oh the views!
Yes, that's right, I convinced Annie to dive. Actually, I kind of forced her. This dive is one of my favorite sites, Molokini Crater. Annie even swam after a White Tip Reef Shark to get a better view. I was so proud of her.

The Beginnings

We met the first Sunday after I came home from serving a mission in Cambodia. Annie and her family moved in across the street from my parents while I was away. Was it love at first sight? Well...not exactly. In fact, our first date went so bad that we didn't talk to each other for several weeks. Finally, because Annie felt bad for me because I was lonely (my brother had just left for his mission) she asked me out. The second date went a little better so we decided to be, "just friends." Famous last words. Three months after I came home, we were engaged. A VERY long nine month engagement came to a much anticipated end on June 1, 2005 in the Mount Timpanogos Temple. The rest is history.
